Annual Concert Details

Piccolo, Vivo, Allegro, Avanti, Prelude and Concert Levels

Dear Perth AGC Parents,

We are looking forward to a number of exciting events in the coming months and appreciate how busy the end of year can be for families. With this is mind, while the Annual Concert is not until November, we are pleased to provide you with all of the information now that you will require about rehearsals and the performance.

There will be a two week holiday break for AGC classes at the end of term 3. The last week of classes for AGC will be held in the week of September 18 for weeknight classes and Saturday September 23 for Saturday classes. We look forward to seeing all our choristers again when term 4 resumes in the week beginning October 9. All upcoming AGC term dates can be viewed on our website calendar.

If you are yet to make holiday plans for your daughter then please do consider the Holiday Program - Take the Stage which will be held on October 4 & 5 – find out more

We’re looking forward to returning to the Perth Concert Hall for our Annual Concerts on Sunday November 5. We firmly believe in the many benefits of the girls having the opportunity to perform in premier concert venues; if it is your daughter’s first concert at Perth Concert Hall, we feel confident she’ll have a wonderful time.

I trust that everything we detail below is clear but don’t hesitate to make contact should you require more information than we’ve provided - please call us on 08 6365 2100 or email us at headoffice@aspagroup.com.au.

      Arrival:
On arrival to the venue please walk down the right hand side of the building and make your way to the arrival desk at the front of the Concert Hall. Girls will be escorted to their level group by AGC staff where a roll will be marked for attendance.

Girls will participate in an onstage rehearsal prior to the concert, when they will be shown where they are standing on stage and have a full run through with the accompanists. Please contact the office if your daughter is unable to arrive at the scheduled time.

Audience members should return 20 minutes prior to the performance to take their seat in the auditorium. The concert runs for 100 minutes without an interval.

      Wear:
Piccolo & Vivo levels wear a party dress, or a top with knee to mid-calf length skirt or pants. This can be worn with flat and secure party shoes or sandals of any colour.

Allegro and Avanti levels dress in all white for this concert.
We aim for the girls to be able to comfortably sit, walk up and down stairs and dance so suggest:

      • Knee length or longer dress, skirt or pants and a top, all in white
      • Flat secure shoes in white, black or silver

Each year Allegro wear pink sashes and hair ribbons and Avanti wear purple. These are available to purchase for $5 from your Venue Manager.

Prelude and Concert levels should arrive in their AGC uniform of a magenta t-shirt, polar fleece, navy dance pants, black socks, black shoes and hair tied back with pink rehearsal ribbon. They will be provided with a costume top on concert day, which is worn with the AGC rehearsal dance pants and black jazz shoes. The neckline of the costume top requires that girls wear undergarments that are not visible. We therefore ask that all girls wear a white or flesh coloured bra or low neckline singlet – please avoid sports or cross back strap bras as these can be visible.

All choristers should arrive with their hair tied neatly back off their face and may like to wear their hair in a special way for the performance. Girls don’t wear any jewellery or watches on stage, other than small earrings. We suggest that jewellery, watches and other valuables are left at home.

      Bring:
All choristers should bring a packed meal, substantial snack and named water bottle (please no food deliveries). We have some choristers who have severe nut allergies and therefore ask that you do not pack any nut based foods, including peanut butter and Nutella sandwiches.

Prelude & Concert Level choristers should also bring their black jazz shoes.

      Dismissal:
Collection points will be communicated on stage at the conclusion of the performance.
