Dear parents,
We’re beyond excited to be heading into 2023 with over 6,000 girls ready to sing, dance, play and learn with us. For those of you who are returning, thank you for allowing us the privilege of being part of your daughter’s education. As you know the benefits of music education with us go far beyond the stage and we appreciate the overwhelmingly positive feedback we receive from parents.
“AGC has provided a diverse range of skills to my daughters beyond just performance and stage presence. It has built leadership, social, emotional skills as well as commitment, confidence and a sense of joy and friendship.
My eldest daughter now 21 received early entry into our local Universities Global Leadership program based on her leadership in the choir. I also believe the music skills supports their academic performance as they use both the left and right side of their brains in unison.”
“This is my daughter’s sixth year with AGC. She has developed confidence and some leadership skills. Choir has been her happy place to go, when the trials of the school yard have become too much. She has made great friends and most importantly learnt valuable life skills such as working in a group, listening to others, finding her own voice and resilience.”
If this is your first year with us, we’re very pleased to welcome you to the AGC community. We are genuinely interested in feedback from longstanding and new parents and girls so we encourage you to make contact with us if there is something you wish to discuss. We naturally enjoy hearing about what works and we are also very interested in knowing about the difficulties parents and girls encounter with the way we run the AGC. We are consistently aiming to improve the management and artistic standard of the choir and regularly review the way we organise events and communicate information.
Please stay informed about all things AGC via the eNewsletters, website, Instagram and Facebook.
For those of you who are yet to learn about other ASPA related activities please do:
- Check out ASPA Education as we offer a wide variety of programs nationally including: professional development for teachers, music and dance classes in schools and alternative education settings, along with early childhood education programs, and
- Read about Girls from Oz – this is the charity partner to the AGC and is a program in which many of our team members work with, mostly Indigenous, girls in remote parts of Australia.
On behalf of the ASPA Board, I wish all parents and girls a very enjoyable year with the AGC. We have lots of plans and we’re so pleased that you’re part of this vibrant and growing organisation.
