Our 40th anniversary year, in 2024, was certainly one to remember. Not only did we have 6,500 girls sing and dance their way through the year in six cities across Australia but we also launched the International Girls Choir in Singapore. We always have plenty to look forward to at ASPA and this year, we’re especially excited to be developing even more opportunities for our girls and staff team.

For those of you who are returning, thank you for allowing us the privilege of being part of your daughter’s education. As you know the benefits of music education with us go far beyond the stage and we appreciate the overwhelmingly positive feedback we receive from parents.

“AGC provides a space for young girls to witness and build positive female friendships – a space to build each other up and celebrate the achievements of their peers. This is a powerful standard that creates a strong foundation for our girls’ future engagement with fellow women.”
ACT Parent

“AGC has been a part of our family for almost 20 years with 2 daughters. My daughters have thrived in AGC and it has supported them in developing a vast range of skills including confidence, community, communication with diverse groups, leadership and performance opportunities, flexibility and performance skills. The skills and development my daughters have learned carry them across their life in their school life and outside school. AGC is like a family and my daughters have developed lifelong friendships.”
NSW Parent

If this is your first year with us, we’re very pleased to welcome you to the AGC community. We are genuinely interested in feedback from longstanding and new parents and girls so we encourage you to make contact with us if there is something you wish to discuss. We naturally enjoy hearing about what works and we are also very interested in knowing about the difficulties parents and girls encounter with the way we run the AGC. We are consistently aiming to improve the management and artistic standard of the choir and regularly review the way we organise events and communicate information.

Please stay informed about all things AGC via the eNewsletters, website, Instagram and Facebook. For those of you who are yet to learn about other ASPA related activities please do:

  • Check out ASPA Education as we offer a wide variety of programs nationally including professional development for teachers, holiday programs and assistance with the production of school shows and concerts. We love to complement the work of classroom teachers and receive excellent feedback from school leaders about the enhancements we make to their offerings.
  • Jump onto the Raw Energy Dance Education website – REDed delivers curriculum aligned and extra-curricular dance programs in schools across Australia inspiring students to get active, learn new skills and have fun, and
  • Read about Girls from Oz – this is the charity partner to the AGC and is a program in which many of our team members work with, mostly First Nations, girls in remote parts of Australia.

On behalf of the ASPA Board, I wish all parents and girls a very enjoyable year with the AGC. We have lots of plans and we’re so pleased that you’re part of this vibrant and growing organisation.

AGC Uniform and Online Shop 560x339

    AGC Uniform and Online Shop

All uniform and merchandise items ordered from the AGC Online Shop will be delivered to your daughter's rehearsal venue and handed out in class across term 1. Please note that items ordered together may arrive separately over a number of weeks. New choristers should continue to wear casual clothes to class until the uniforms are delivered.

In 2024 we changed the navy elements of our uniform to black. Allegro, Avanti, Prelude and Concert Level girls can continue to wear the navy uniform until the end of 2025.

We recommend that you view uniform sample sizes at your rehearsal venue before placing an order. Your Venue Manager can also assist if you are unsure about sizing.

      First Week of Classes

All parents have been emailed important information regarding the first week of classes for 2025. Saturday classes will commence on Saturday February 8 and weeknight classes will commence in the week of February 10.

Please see your Venue Map for details on the designated venue entrance and parking.

      In Class Audition Workshops 260x182

      In-Class Audition Workshop

Each year during term 1, Tutors nominate a small number of choristers to be considered for a special part in our mid-year concert. While not every girl can have a special part, we are committed to helping all choristers develop solo singing and performance skills. To that end, Allegro, Avanti, Prelude and Concert Level choristers will take part in a formal In-Class Audition Workshop which will be facilitated by their Tutor over three weeks, beginning March 1 for Saturday classes and the week of March 3 for weeknight classes. A chorister who misses one of these classes will still be considered.

Choristers in Piccolo and Vivo will be assessed during specifically designed activities undertaken throughout term 1.
