The Australian Girls Choir team is committed to developing a community of resilient, happy young women who strive for excellence on and off the stage. We are grateful to work together in this unique organisation and consistently aim to provide a safe place for all girls to express themselves through outstanding performing arts education.

For those of you who are returning, thank you for allowing us the privilege of being part of your daughter’s education. As you know the benefits of music education with us go far beyond the stage and we appreciate the overwhelmingly positive feedback we receive from parents.

“We continue to enrol our daughter each year, first and foremost because of her genuine love for singing, dancing, and performing and her deep enthusiasm and admiration for the Australian Girls Choir in particular.  She is now completing her third year, and we have no doubt she will remain part of the AGC community for many years to come. From our perspective, the AGC is an exceptionally well-organised and professionally run organisation — from the weekly classes through to the major performances and right down to the clarity and consistency of the email communication.  Every aspect reflects an organisation that operates with care, precision, and excellence.”  Perth Parent

“I love that the choir helps her build confidence through performing, public speaking, and leadership opportunities. It also nurtures such important qualities like discipline, commitment, and resilience. I also really value that she’s exposed to so many different musical styles but most of all, I love the strong sense of belonging the choir creates. It’s such a positive, encouraging environment where wonderful friendships can grow.” Melbourne Parent

If this is your first year with us, we’re very pleased to welcome you to the AGC community. We are genuinely interested in feedback from longstanding and new parents and girls so we encourage you to make contact with us if there is something you wish to discuss. We naturally enjoy hearing about what works and we are also very interested in knowing about any difficulties parents and girls encounter with the way we run the AGC. We are consistently aiming to improve the management and artistic standard of the choir and regularly review the way we organise events and communicate information.

Please stay informed about all things AGC via the eNewsletters, website, Instagram and Facebook. For those of you who are yet to learn about other ASPA related activities please do:

  • Check out ASPA Education as we offer a wide variety of programs nationally. School leaders and teachers especially value our assistance in producing shows and concerts. We also offer professional development for teachers and curriculum aligned music and drama classes.
  • Jump onto Raw Energy Dance Education website – REDed delivers curriculum aligned and extra-curricular dance programs in schools across Australia inspiring students to get active, learn new skills and have fun, and
  • Read about Girls from Oz – this is the charity partner to the AGC and is a program in which many of our team members work with, mostly First Nations, girls in remote parts of Australia.

On behalf of the ASPA Board, I wish all parents and girls a very enjoyable year with the AGC. We have lots of plans and we’re so pleased that you’re part of this vibrant and growing organisation.

Please visit the AGC Online Shop for details about the AGC uniform requirements for your daughter’s level. We recommend that you view uniform sample sizes at your rehearsal venue before placing an order. Your Venue Manager can also assist if you are unsure about sizing.

All uniform and merchandise items ordered from the AGC Online Shop will be delivered to your daughter's rehearsal venue and handed out in class across term 1. In-Class Audition Workshop

Each year during term 1, Tutors nominate a small number of choristers to be considered for a special part in our mid-year concert. While not every girl can have a special part, we are committed to helping all choristers develop solo singing and performance skills. To that end, Allegro, Avanti, Prelude and Concert Level choristers will take part in a formal In-Class Audition Workshop which will be facilitated by their Tutor over three weeks, beginning February 28 for Saturday classes and the week of March 2 for weeknight classes. A chorister who misses one of these classes will still be considered.

Choristers in Piccolo and Vivo will be assessed during specifically designed activities undertaken throughout term 1.
