Australian Girls Choir in Concert Invitation

All levels

Each year our most senior levels of the Australian Girls Choir; Concert Level, Camerata and Performing Choir present ‘Australian Girls Choir in Concert’ at the Joy Shepherd Performing Arts Centre at St Hilda's Anglican School for Girls. These talented young performers will take the audience on a musical journey featuring varied and entertaining repertoire.

A focus on role modelling is at the heart of the AGC philosophy with many of our littlies dreaming of one day becoming a member of the Performing Choir. We are pleased to offer every junior chorister a special ticket price of $8 and hope that they will come along to see our ‘big girls’ in action. Please note that choristers attending the performance will not be supervised by AGC staff members and to this end we ask that an adult accompanies your daughter to the show.

Should you have more than one daughter in the choir and your daughters are not scheduled to perform in the same show for the Annual Concert, AGC will offer up to three complimentary tickets to one of these performances.

        2024 eNSL4 Annual Concert Production Rehearsal 560x339

        Annual Concert Production Rehearsal

        All Levels

The Annual Concert Production Rehearsal is an opportunity for girls from all venues to come together to prepare the music and staging for their Annual Concert items. This rehearsal will run for approximately 1-3 hours depending on your daughter's level. It will be held at a central location and will replace all Saturday classes on this weekend. Whilst we see this as a valuable chance for the girls to experience music making with the larger group, we also understand that attendance might not be possible for all families. Please note that girls who are unable to attend will not be disadvantaged and their tutor will ensure that they are adequately caught up in the weeks following the Production Rehearsal.

Girls from Oz: '100,000 reasons why' Giving Circle Campaign

This June g-oz set the ambitious aim of raising $100,000 for their 2024 Giving Circle campaign. With a few events yet to wrap up, the final count is still happening, but g-oz can confirm that the target has been reached!

The AGC community played a significant role in helping g-oz surpass their goal of $100,000 for a second year in a row.

A big thank you to everyone who supported our charity partner during their annual fundraising campaign, as well as to those families who so generously choose to regularly donate to g-oz throughout the year.

As part of the Giving Circle campaign, Giving Circle Coordinators run their own fundraising ‘circle’, joining together with their personal networks to learn more about g-oz and raise funds for the g-oz cause. These Coordinators range from our g-oz Ambassadors comprised of AGC senior choristers, AGC parents, alumni, and tutors, all the way to our 94 year old founder, Judith Curphey OAM!  This year we saw some wonderfully creative fundraising ideas from bake sales and sausage sizzles to market stalls and public performances. A lot of time and effort was put into these events, and they have all been an incredible success!

All funds raised will go directly to the g-oz 21st Travel Program to Sydney at the end of the year which will see 30 g-oz participants from the remote Australian communities of Halls Creek, Lockhart River, Kowanyama, and Bidyadanga partake in a week-long educational and cross-cultural program. The program will conclude on stage at the Sydney Opera House where participants will sing alongside the AGC to an audience of over 2500. The girls will have the opportunity to experience the joy of performing in AGC Annual Concerts.

Thank you once again to everyone who supported the 2024 ‘100,000 reasons why’ Giving Circle Campaign, and to those who regularly donate to g-oz!
