Touring in 2025
2025 Concert Level, Camerata and Performing Choir
We have some exciting plans in place already for 2025 and we’re also reviewing the current schedule that sees us undertake both National and International Tours in the Term 3 school holidays. Since 1989, more than 2,500 girls have toured with the AGC on one of our 48 tours and for most it was a highlight of their time with us and a highlight of their schooling years. What could be better than seeing new places with a group of girls who share your passion for singing, dancing and performing? Whether the adventures take place on home soil or in countries that most people dream of visiting, the view of many girls and their parents is that it’s a once in a lifetime opportunity. As is always the case at this time of year, we are exploring a range of options in terms of which cities and towns to visit or re-visit. We’re fortunate to have a wonderful network of choirs and schools throughout Australia and in many countries around the world; we will be liaising with potential host groups in coming months in order to put our plans in place. We will definitely be undertaking our 26th International Tour:
INTERNATIONAL TOUR Italy, Switzerland and Singapore Destinations are likely to include Rome, Venice, Geneva, regional towns in Italy & Switzerland and Singapore September 15 – October 6 Beyond this, we are looking at two other possibilities:
NEW ZEALAND TOUR North Island Destinations are likely to include Auckland, Hamilton, Rotorua and Wellington July 10 – 23 NATIONAL TOUR Victoria Destinations are likely to include Melbourne, Geelong and other regional towns October 2 - 14 We will be holding a tour information session on Zoom on Tuesday November 19 from 7.30 – 8.15pm (AEDT) and will send further details about this to 2024 Concert Level, Camerata and Performing choristers at the end of October.
AGC Open Days
Our upcoming Open Days in November give potential new choristers the chance to try an AGC class, meet our lovely staff members, attend an information session and register for 2025 classes. With 6,500 girls taking part in our classes each week we have found that there is no surer way of letting other girls ‘in on the secret’ than by word of mouth. Should you wish to recommend the AGC to your family and friends please encourage them to visit our website below to find out more about our Open Days!
Take the stage these school holidays at our Summer Showtime music theatre program presented by the Australian School of Performing Arts.
Over four jam-packed days (January 20 – 23), girls and boys in Grade 2 to 7 will work with our dynamic team of performing arts specialists to put together a production of…
The loveable Horton the Elephant, the mischievous Cat in the Hat, and all of your favourite Dr. Seuss characters come to life this summer in Seussical™ KIDS! This fantastical musical extravaganza will see participants dive into the depths of their imagination, learn new performing arts skills, make friends and bring this eccentric musical to life.
For children in Reception and Grade 1, we will also be offering a two-day Holiday Program where junior participants can develop their singing, dance and drama skills in a nurturing and creative environment.
Several of our Summer Showtime Programs were a sold-out success in 2024, so secure your spot now to avoid missing out!
Many Australians haven’t had the opportunity to travel to Sydney to see the Opera House so it’s hard to imagine what it’s like to come from one of our remote Girls from Oz communities and find yourself singing on stage with 600+ members of the Australian Girls Choir. We are only able to make this incredible experience available because of the fabulous support we receive from the ASPA community including 15 generous host families who are billeting the girls.
October 28 – November 4 will see 30 girls from Halls Creek, Bidyadanga, Lockhart River and Kowanyama visit Sydney for a week.
The Governor-General, her Excellency the Honourable Sam Mostyn AC, is hosting a small event in celebration of the AGC’s 40th anniversary at Admiralty House and some g-oz participants will attend and perform.
The girls will participate in a wide range of educational, vocational and tourist activities including a visit to NIDA and Google’s Australian Headquarters.
g-oz Patron, Dame Quentin Bryce AD CVO, is really looking forward to joining the girls at Admiralty House and the Opera House.
This year’s Giving Circles campaign aim was $100,000 to fund the Travel Program and this target was exceeded – thank you to those of you who support this work. For anyone wishing to learn some more and consider supporting g-oz, last year’s Travel Programs were a great success and we think you’ll enjoy this five minute video of the girls’ time in Brisbane and Perth – Song to Sing.
