Girls from Oz: Circles for Change
For the fifth year in a row our charity partner Girls from Oz has set and surpassed the target for their annual Giving Circles fundraising campaign.
In 2026 g-oz aimed to raise $100,000 to fund two Travel Programs – one for Queensland program participants to Melbourne, and one for Western Australian participants to Perth. We’re excited to share that, with the support of the Australian Girls Choir community, g-oz raised a total of $101,959. A heartfelt thank you to the AGC community for playing such a vital role in this achievement.
As part of the campaign, 46 Giving Circle Coordinators formed their own fundraising ‘circles for change’, reaching out to their networks to raise funds and share the g-oz story. These Coordinators included our g-oz Ambassadors comprised of AGC senior choristers; parents; alumni and tutors. This year saw our most creative fundraising efforts to date, from bake sales and market stalls to face-painting and public performances. A lot of time, effort and energy was put into these events, and they were all a roaring success!
This year’s Travel Programs to Melbourne and Perth will see 30 g-oz participants from the remote Australian communities of Halls Creek, Lockhart River, Kowanyama, and Bidyadanga participate in a week-long educational and cross-cultural program, concluding with a performances with the Australian Girls Choir at the Annual Concert.
